Founding

The Locksmiths Association of San Antonio (LASA) is a Texas Non-Profit Corporation which began in 1961 with six locksmiths who joined together to establish a San Antonio and surrounding area locksmith trade organization to advance the common interest of locksmiths.

It continues to be our desire to set a high standard of quality in the locksmithing profession by increasing the knowledge, experience, and skill of its members through CEU Classes, Clinics, discussions, a newsletter, and a general exchange among members. Education within and without continues to be a primary purpose of this organization.

Meetings & Membership

LASA meets the 2nd Thursday of each month except December. These monthly meetings are at Oak Ridge Baptist Church fellowhip hall, 10915 Vance Jackson, San Antonio. During the year we offer before the meeting clinics (7:00 pm) and a monthly business meeting (8:00 pm). The Business meetings last about an hour and usually end with refreshments. (there is a map here).

LASA offers six (6) categories of membership:

Education

Education within and without is a primary purpose of the Locksmiths Association of San Antonio (LASA). CEU Classes (or education for ‘pocket card’ renewal by the State of Texas) must be done through an accredited, by the State of Texas, school. LASA’s CEU School will certify the classes, maintain your records, and issue the required CEU certificate. We also offer short Clinics which are not designed to meet state standards but provide helpful information throughout the year. ( see CEU’s & Clinics)

Fellowship

Locksmiths Association of San Antonio (LASA) is a family oriented organization. We encourage you to bring guests to the meetings and events. We have an Awards Banquet with the Installation of Officers each December and special events throughout the year. (see Calendar)
